Location:
Situated in a coconut and cashew plantation overlooking
the bay and the islands of Chole, Jibondo and
Juani.
Rooms: Small luxury lodge for
twenty guests.
Room amenities: Rooms are decorated
with hand-made furniture, each with an elevated
wooden veranda shaded under thatch, private bathroom,
armchairs, tables and hammock. There is all-day
mains electricity and hot and cold water supply
from three permanent wells on the property.
Hotel Facilities: Beautifully
furnished with antiques and hand-crafted furniture,
dining room is appointed with crockery and hand-blown
glassware, original works of art by East African
artists.
Catering is based upon local seafood: fresh
fish, prawns, crab, lobster, octopus and calamari,
with fresh vegetables and fruit flown from the
mainland. Our breads, rolls, pizzas and variety
of yoghurts, preserves and sauces are all home
made, from traditional recipes. Seafood barbecues
and Swahili cuisine are established Kinasi customs.

Location:
This is a beachfront lodge located to the eastern
side of Mafia Island in a low-lying
coastal strip facing Chole Island. The distance
from Kilindoni town, the main point of access
by air or water to the lodge and capital of Mafia
District, is 14.5 kilometres.
Rooms: All the lodge’s
40 bedrooms are air-conditioned.
Hotel Facilities: Excellent
beach, sport fishing, diving and numerous other
water sports activities.

Rooms:
There are just nine rooms at Pole Pole, five of
which are luxury lodges, the other four being
the simpler luxury beach bandas.
Room amenities: The luxury has
large private verandah with day-bed, chairs and
table. The beach bandas do not have ensuite bathrooms
and share a single ablutions facility and have
floor-standing fans.
Hotel Facilities: Restaurant
and bar area with excellent food, being predominantly
swahili dishes with superb fish, vegetables and
fruits. Facilities are comfortable and easy. There
is an excellent dive school with proper PADI qualified
instructors.
